Ortiz produced a relentless attack to knock out Resto twice in the opening-round.

Filipino upstart Richie Mepranum defeated American Cesar Lopez by unanimous decision in their six-round flyweight bout, one of the undercards in the Dream Match pitting Oscar De La Hoya and Manny Pacquiao. Mepranum from Saranggani Province improved his record to 15 wins, 2 losses and a draw.

Oscar “Golden Boy” De La Hoya made his entrance at the MGM Grand Arena at about (6:01 p.m.) 10:01 a.m. in Manila. Video footage shows the 35-year-old De La Hoya looking somber with less than two hours away from his duel with Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao.
